It is the LORD who has spoken to me, therefore I believe.
I’m writing another blog, because God spoke to me last night, and I know that the truth of what He said to me is going to encourage you because His promises for your life is to give you a future and a hope!!
BE ENCOURAGED, TRUST GOD!!!
Yesterday I was listening to a sermon on New Dreams, in the context of the life of Joseph. And the night before I had just read through Genesis. And the sermon spoke of God giving us dreams and in between the dream and the fulfillment of that dream is the reality, where we are tested and must go through the process to get the product. Last night I read Exodus 6:2-3 ” God also said to Moses,” I am the LORD. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by my name the LORD I did not make myself fully known to them”
So I posed the question to God, “what made Moses so special that God you revealed yourself fully to him, talking with him face to face?”
When God first spoke to Moses, Moses said,” Who am I that I should go…And God said I will be with you…” (3:11-12). After getting that promise from God, Moses was still fixed on the physical, worldly complications of his own thoughts about himself and the response he would get from other people. ” What if they don’t believe me or listen to me” ( 4:1) God then said He would show them signs so that they would know that He sent him. Yet after all those promises from God, Moses said ” pardon your servant, LORD, please send someone else” ( 4:13).
I posed the question, why Moses, and immediately after that thought, this answer from God penetrated my mind,“because I wanted to”. It’s so real because who are we to question the plans and purposes God has for us? I spent a lot of the time wrestling with God from last October to April and the question of Him sending me on the World Race and being a missionary, because in the worlds eyes, I have no experience overseas, and the money wasn’t really coming in . I understood however that it wasn’t a question of my capability but a time of pure dependency on God as He humbled and grew me to rely solely on Him. Which I praise Him for, because He has really grown me a lot through the whole process!
God spoke and promised, and we are suppose to believe what He says because what He has spoken to us are trustworthy promises. He never disappoints or fails us! His voice was so real and so clear in my head. Honestly all I have to say is confirmation, after confirmation, after confirmation! Because it just confirms what God has promised me and planned for me. Since getting back from training camp all the things I’ve been praying about over the summer have been confirmed as, from God. My confusion and seeking this summer was about the plans He has for me after the World Race and the desires He put in my heart over the summer. This summer I was constant in prayer, constantly seeking His plans and not my own, His desire and not my own. Seeking, searching and asking for discernment on what God placed on my heart, and I just felt Him say to me, a few days ago and again last night ,”I’ve shown you time and time again, sign and sign again, every time you’ve asked I’ve shown you, now just believe, Alyssa, just believe!”
It’s so crazy and amazing because it’s no longer a “why or are you sure God?”, but a resting in His faithful promises, that will come to fulfillment in His perfect timing! Not only does He have a perfect plan for me on the World Race but as He has promised me, a perfect plan for after the Race.
I’m posting this blog because it is so applicable to every person!!! I pray that whatever dreams God has given to you that you’ll trust in His timing as His promised truth goes from a dream in your heart, through reality and into fulfillment for His divine purpose. For His good, perfect, and pleasing will ( Romans 12:2)!
Psalm 145:8-19 has been such truth and a life source for me over the summer as I constantly meditated on the truth of who He is!!
The Lord is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and rich in love.
9 The Lord is good to all;
he has compassion on all he has made.
10 All your works praise you, Lord;
your faithful people extol you.
11 They tell of the glory of your kingdom
and speak of your might,
12 so that all people may know of your mighty acts
and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and your dominion endures through all generations.
The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises
and faithful in all he does.
14 The Lord upholds all who fall
and lifts up all who are bowed down.
15 The eyes of all look to you,
and you give them their food at the proper time.
16 You open your hand
and satisfy the desires of every living thing.
17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways
and faithful in all he does.
18 The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.
19 He fulfills the desires of those who fear him;
he hears their cry and saves them.
Friends, the dreams that He has given and promised you, may take, days, weeks, months, years, decades, or a lifetime to come into fulfillment. But take heart, be encouraged, trust God and the promises He has made to you! Trust!
God bless you all! Share the promises He has made with you to others, and praise Him always for everything He has done and will continue to do! Let His praise always be on our lips!
