Hey everyone I got a route change, I’m now going to Ecuador instead of Malaysia. Thank you all for your continual support and endless prayers. God bless and love you all!!
” Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: “Rulers and elders of the people! If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a man who was lame and are being asked how he was healed, then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. Jesus is “‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’ Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.” ( Acts 4:8-13)
They were fishermen, unschooled, ordinary, average men, yet God worked in them and through them to do the work He called them to do. Having degrees, status, and schooling is great and yet the best schooling is the school of suffering. Peter, James, and John were a part of the inner circle with Jesus. They saw Him in His glorified state( The Mount of Transfiguration).“Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. ” ( Matthew 26:36-37). ” When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James, and the child’s father and mother.” ( Luke 8:51)
They weren’t a part of this inner circle because they were more loved by Jesus, rather they wanted it more than the rest. And God was using those times to grow them and prepare them for what would come later in the future in their walk with Him. Galatians 2:6 ” God shows no favoritism”. You’re as close to God as you choose to be. It’s your God given choice to follow Him or not, to grow closer to Him or not. “ Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” ( James 4:8) The world can obviously see something different in you, when you follow Christ. The world can’t comprehend what agape love is unless they know Christ. Your actions and your words have an affect on others whether you choose to acknowledge it or not. When others see us as followers of Christ they must be able to tell and know that we have been with Jesus. He is the one who rids us of our own selfish desires and shapes us into loving like Him, and acting like Him in all aspects of our lives.
“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” ( 1 John 4:7-12)
It always comes back to love. Loving God and loving people. When you love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, it leaves absolutely no room for anything else. It’s a complete surrender and all consuming love for God an all people.
“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” ( Romans 12:9-13)
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails…” ( 1 Corinthians 13:4-8)
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” ( Matthew 5:14-16).
“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
Your light is Jesus and you reflect His light. ” Go in peace and do good”
