Update on the status of India.
Because of the civil unrest in India we are going and working in a slightly different area than I previously mentioned. We are working in villages now. India is covered in a thick cloud of darkness, however we are His army, we are His light! WE HEAD to INDIA today. (Pray in every way that we would smoothly get through customs and everything) There is going to be such spiritual warfare, as we proclaim all the chains broken in the name of Jesus, as we cast out demons, set the captives free! WE are His CHURCH, we are HIS BODY, we are HIS LIGHTBEARERS! Please continue to pray for us all!! In all honestly I’m not sure how much wifi, if any we will have. So whether you see a blog post or not, please remember us and the work the LORD is doing through us. PLease pray that God will continue to provide and pour out a blessing for this trip to keep me here on the field of India and Zambia. I’m still $2,000 away from my last deadline of being fully funded, however God is faithful, I trust His sovereign plan and will. MY God shall supply all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19) . Love you all, God bless!!!
We have heard it a thousand times, new year, new me. What does that really mean besides the fact that there is something about ourselves that we know and want to change, improve, and fix. My question for you is what I’ve asked myself many times before and what all people eventually ask. Whether they scream it into space or ponder this deep question and yearning, the question remains, why am I here? What’s my purpose? Have you ever stopped and just thought, why am I alive in 2017? Where are you going, which path are you taking, what is the direction you are walking?
I spent the New Year celebration in Downtown Toronto. What I saw was thousands of people, all walks and all ages. I thought and said it aloud, where are they all going? My question for you is, where exactly are you going, what exactly are you doing?
A sea of people, all heading somewhere? But where is the question.Where is the where, the why, the direction of your “life”. Stopping dead in your tracks to figure out your existence in this zero time.Do they ever stop and think,The question spoken, pondering since the beginning of the age. The age old question.Why? Where am I going? A crowd of people. A sea of faces.One thing remains, that God has placed eternity in the human heart. The God shaped hole inside our souls.As we ourselves use every means to fill this, apart from God.This God shaped hole is filled solely by the LORD. Busyness , working for the next day, not realizing that time is a gift, the present. It slips away, as you find yourself saying, “some day, some day”.Ask yourself the question now, search for truth. The hidden treasure will be found. 2k17, when life has meaning, new year, truly a new you.
God says are lives are but a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes(James 4:11) , a mere handbreadth( which is about three inches) a breath , a mere phantom( Psalm 39), a flower that falls, the grass that withers (Isaiah 40:6-8), and God remembers that we are but flesh. All these things we are called ,are temporary, we are alive but only a moment. If you take any number and divide it by eternity you get ZERO. Your time on earth is a ZERO time compared to eternity. And yet what you do in this God given ZERO time determines where you spend all eternity after this life. Pause, stop, reflect, what exactly are you doing in this ZERO time of life? Have you thought about the purpose of your existence? You are fearfully and wonderfully made by God Almighty! He loves you so much ( now this love isn’t a conceivable love, it’s a sacrificial, self-less, unconditional love) this is the love God has for us, that He sent His one and only Son into creation to live a perfect life and die on the cross for all the messed up, shameful, sinful things we have done. Nailing them to the cross, He took our place, He took the punishment which was meant for you and I. He arose from the dead, conquering sin and death, and says to us “come, ask and I will give you living water in which you will be satisfied, never thirsting again (John 4:10,4:14) , come,all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! (Isaiah 55:1), ask and it will be given to you(Matthew 7:7) , believe in me and you will pass from death to life( John 5:24).
Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross was for anyone and everyone, all you have to do is ask for forgiveness and turn from your sins. IT is by GRACE you have been SAVED. Christianity is having an intimate relationship with God who created you, it’s not a religion. Christianity isn’t a matter of a list of do’s and don’t, trying to earn your way to heaven. We could never ever do enough good deeds to outweigh all the messed up things we have done. The open invitation God makes is to ALL People EVERYWHERE, grace is extended to all, just ask for forgiveness and thank Jesus for His sacrifice on the cross for you.
2K17, New you, is spot on. “ 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 New International Version (NIV)
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a]The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin[b]for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
