I walked across the boarder to Swaziland from Mozambique and the atmosphere instantly changed. I could hear the wind whisking by and the birds happily chirping. There wasn't any other sound. That's when I new Swazi was different. In Mozambique I would fall asleep to the sound of witch doctors beating their drums and dog fights. On good nights I would fall asleep to the neighbors blaring "shine bright like a diamond" until four in the morning.

I'm actually so thankful I only have to spend a month in each country. I mean yes sometimes it sucks because then I have to say too many goodbyes. Even though it's quieter here and the people are passive, there is a lot of other things going on. AIDS is taking over the country. And very very young children are losing their innocents. Every billboard is telling people to choose just one partner and help stop AIDS.

The men of our squad are having a month alone so that leaves us girls! I've been having so much fun with them. We are staying at a care point called the Anchor Center. People come here for a meal, water, health care, and to goof off at the play ground. We have been doing maintenance to the buildings, workingg in the gardens, and playing with kids.

It's been a good time but I'm ready for Thailand!
