Hmmmm what to blog about…
Well my team was located in Odessa Ukraine for the month. It's a vibrant city with lots of tourist, and sandy beaches of the Black Sea. It's also full of universities. So our main ministry was too build relationships with students apart of a organization called CCX.
We have met some of the greatest people. I don't think I've sen so many diversity in my life. Mostly, we hung around students from India and Iraq. Our days with them were spent at the beach and out downtown trying find food to eat under € 25(which is mostly impossible). That covers your coffee. I think the best thing was getting to be around people who are believers in different religions. Even though they don't believe in Jesus you can still see lots of Jesus characteristics in them.
We tried to eat Mexican food on Nick and Eric's Birthday. bad idea. I got fajitas and on a scale from 0 to fajitas it was a 2. It came with chicken, tomato paste, rice, paper cheese, and white garlic sauce. You can't even compare it to anything from Taco Bell. It's not even on the Taco Bell scale. Moral of story, America has the best Mexican food:) oh and love everyone. Even if they believe in something completely different than you. God created us all.
My favorite time was on the last night in Odessa. The full moon was out while we were swimming in the Black Sea one last time. Our new friends were their with fresh strawberries and cherries and we swam and talked until we were freezing. We didn't build anything huge or grand, helped starving children, or brought clean water to villages. But we did love and build relationships which I believe love is the most important thing. The second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself.
Off to Cape Town, Africa!
