Let introduce you to something special. This is something so special that it has special included in the name of it. "Special Songs/ Dramas"

Have you heard of these? Anyone have a missionary come to your church? Did they perform, speak, and sing?

Now every Sunday has become a great adventure. Let me tell you a story that happen in month 1 Ecuador.

One day in Ecuador my team and Team Luminous traveled from our nice quite jungle town to the city. We arrived to this beautiful church for a night youth service. Now keep in mind if your not married you are considered youth. Anyways so we are at this youth service. The pastor came to introduce himself and asked if we would perform a special song and someone would give a testimony. I figured the special song would be performed by only the musical and beautiful sounding people so I was off the hook for that one right? And as for the testimony I just held my breathe and pray I wasn't chosen. And I wasn't!!! So I could just sit and listen. Just when I was comfy in my seat… I hear, "please welcome the Americans, they will perform a special song". That's when we all had to go up and sing. And without any music and instruments playing with us. So we mustered up a song that we thought we knew, Blessed Be Your Name. As soon as the first note came out of our mouths the flip phones came out. Everyone in the congregation started to video tape us. We forgot most of the words and finally finished it but they wanted another one. So of course we had to sing Ecuador's favorite song, Open The Eyes Of My Heart! We knew the words to this song better and the congregation sang along. We also had Someone came up started playing some sweet beats on the keyboard and playing who knows and in a completely random key. As soon as he started playing, I don't think any of us could stop laughing.

These special songs have become a norm. We actually expect them to happen every time we go to church. I don't know where people got the expectation that missionaries can do everything and are especially musically inclined. But it has become the funniest thing. I look forward to them because couldn't be more embarrassed every time and filled with so much laughter. In Bolivia my team was asked to perform a drama on the spot in front of one of the most populated places on a college campus. And we did it. It had to be a mute drama since we don't speak Spanish. I feel bad for whoever was watching because it was pretty violet nailing Jesus(Justin) to the cross. I hope they got the idea!!

Here is to 8 more months of special songs, dramas, and sermons from the Americans.
Thank you to all of my supporters. It has been a huge blessing to be able to be here. I'm happy to announce to you that I only need $300 more to be fully funded!!! God is so good!!! I just can't believe it sometimes!!! Some of you will be written soon to stop your automatic donations!!!

Xoxo
