So we arrived safely at our next ministry site and set up out tents for month two.  Last month after about ten minutes it looked as if a bomb went off in my tent, this month, on day two, we are going strong with organization.  We met our contacts and got a tour of the market.  Need some CDs? How about dried fish? Underwear? Confetti? All can be found at various stands in the market.

The next day a group of us got picked up to go help a pastor from another town.  All 14 of us piled into the pick up truck.  We thought we were just going for orientation until he pulled up to a random field.  No orientation needed…time to clear the field.  Mind you, we thought it was an orientation so all we have are water bottles and maybe a few cameras.  It is amazing what a month on the race will do…last month working in the field I did not grab any sticks, brush, grass without work gloves…month two and we are all out there grabbing whatever.  As the pastor was explaining to us what he needed there was a joke made about a controlled burn.  Next thing we know he goes and gets matches and starts lighting fires.  Then he asks what time we would like to work to, and then he leaves.  As we continued working a little girl came and stayed by the side to watch.  When she saw what we were doing she started grabbing sticks too and would give them to me.  My Spanish is not great but I can manage so we started talking.  The pastor had told us we were clearing this area because this is where about 50 kids come for church and bible studies on Sundays.  The little girl, Louisa, asked me if we were helping to build a church.  I told her we were clearing the field so they could have more room.  I pray God puts that land and those people on someone’s heart. I pray He provides the resources so that they can build a church there.  Week one of this month this will be my ministry.  Clearing a field so this community can come together and worship.
