I look around me and see old cityscapes marked with new attachments here in Albania. I get this feeling of being trapped even though there are new advancements, technologies, etc. to move forward. It seems like the younger generation have very negative outlooks of their country because they aren’t like other places in the world that they see around them on the news or the internet. They seem jealous and comparative to others. Its funny to me because they are blind to the change that they can have if they are only bold enough to step out of the social norm and instead bring truth to those around them; and that truth is God’s love. For the old ways are dead, but there is transformational power for those who believe in Christ, so much so that I know it can impact a country starving for something new. “The only thing you can grasp without damaging your soul is My hand. You will always have enough to worry about, but you can choose to trust me no matter what” (expert from devotional Jesus Calling).
So come Albania your light has not gone out, no it is just dim. But, here I am! I am at your doors knocking waiting for you to invite me in so I may replenish your lamps with oil! But, this oil will not run out, no it’ll remain day and night! For you are my beloved, my chosen people. What I need you to do though is to join together and not a part; both old and young join hands, come on now join hands together for you are better together than you are apart. For you feed each other you sharpen each other. For as Iron sharpens Iron so does one man sharpen another. So lift your hands up together and give your continual praise! For I am reviving you and strengthening you to share my light to the darkest parts here. Its’ time to stand up united under the umbrella of my love and raise your voices in a sweet harmony so that all may hear and know of my love. You are a beacon for those around you, you are drawing people’s attention here and so are drawing their hearts towards me!
“For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. Trust in him at ALL TIMES, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.” –Psalm 62:5-8
“…The hour has come for you to wake from sleep Albania. For salvation is nearer to you now than when you first believed. The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light!”–Romans 13: 11-12
My children do not hide anymore! Stand strong together both young and old generations, come together as one for there is wisdom and strength in you all! For you are not a forsaken city, you are sought after, redeemed by the Lord (Isaiah 62: 12). For you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who is calling you out of the darkness and into his marvelous light ( 1 Peter 2:9).
Picture given to me from God to Albania. The lamp post is a tree symbolizing that it is deeply rooted in Christ. While the light is representing how its time to be bold and shine bright for Christ to those in Albania. The flowers that hang there are representing how they need life and they can only get life through light and living water!
