Most of my life I’ve wanted to be more consistent in making special time for JUST God! All my life I’ve had the desire but lacked the motivation and discipline to wake up early and set time aside for prayer!

Our contact, Zsombor, is a prayer warrior. We pray before everything, during everything, and for everything! Our ministry this month is basically going to different villages and being invited into homes to pray for the household. We pray for salvation, peace, healing, comfort, food, warmth… and any other request the family has. I’ve been praying more this month then ever before! And the more I pray the more I’ve seen God answer prayer, and the more I want to pray!!!

If I truly believe that God can do ALL THINGS, why am I not asking Him to do more?

Psalms 135:5-6 For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods. Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.

John Wesley a great evangelist who spent 2 hours a day in prayer said “God does nothing except in response to believing prayer.”

The issue is not with God being unable, the problem is with people being unwilling! God is not DOING stuff because, for reasons only He fully knows, He has decided to only ACT when we ASK! And frankly most Christians (including me) aren’t asking!

“Prayer is not overcoming God’s reluctance, but laying hold of His willingness.”  Martin Luther.

James 4:2-3 You have not, because you ask not. You ask, and receive not, because you ask amiss (wrongfully), that you may consume it upon your lusts.

Matthew 7:7-8 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.

John 16:24 Ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be full.

“The prayer power has never been tried to its full capacity. If we want to see mighty wonders of divine power and grace wrought in the place of weakness, failure and disappointment, let us answer God’s standing challenge, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not!'” (J. Hudson Taylor)

I get excited reading verse’s and quotes like the ones above! They really get me to thinking that prayer is well worth my time, in fact praying may very well be the best use of my time!
Even the fact that making time to pray is so stinking hard to do is convincing evidence of its importance. The devil, our enemy and deceiver, tries so hard to keep me off my knees and in my bed every morning. He throws every excuse in the book at me: you need more sleep, you’re sick, it’s cold, you have to much to do, you can pray later…!
Enough excuses, I’ve got a date with the King of Kings! And even when the motivation isn’t there, I agree with Corrie ten Boom, “Don’t pray when you feel like it. Have an appointment with the Lord and keep it. A man is powerful on his knees.”

Let’s get the devil scared, let’s make God proud, let’s see lives changed, let’s turn the world upside down, LET US PRAY!

“Satan does not care how many people read about prayer if only he can keep them from praying.” Paul E. Billheimer

Again I’m gonna say it, LET’S PRAY and SET GOD INTO ACTION, I know He’s been wanting to do great things!
