WOW!
Ok so it;s here! In one short day I leave my lovely home, my amazing family (that I love SOO DEARLY), my wonderful friends, and my common conveniences… for a year of life of changing ministry, adventure, and hardships around the world! The shocks have started; you know those lightning bolts that shoot through your body when you’re extremely happy, in love, or just plain terrified, yup they’ve been getting me!
My emotions are strung high. Just looking at a face I love or hearing some encouraging words have been bringing the tears to my eyes. I do NOT want to be away from my precious family for a whole year! I am not doubting whether this is what God wants me to do or not, but I must admit I am a bit scared and sad.
So instead of focusing on what I’m leaving behind I’m going to talk about what I’m going to do!!!
I wanted to go on this missionary trip to honor God with my life because He is worthy!
“Rev 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
For a year I want to put everything else on hold and focus on God alone! I will be leaving the distractions of my normal life of ease and comfort, work and play to go forth out of my comfort zone. I am leaving behind the security of all I know to learn what It means to depend on God alone for all that I need! I know that leaving my current distractions will not keep me from experiencing different distractions, because the devil will always be around trying to take my focus off of Jesus. So pray for me that my resolve to focus wholly on the Lord will remain strong!
“Matt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things (that you need) shall be added unto you.”
I am going out into the nations to reach the most physically needy peoples of the world. I know that the poverty and suffering I will see will impact my life for ever!
And I am SOO excited that even though I cannot fix all of their problems, heal all of their sicknesses, comfort all of their sorrows, or change their poverty into wealth… I know THE ONE who can! I am going to share the sweet, wonderful, loving, gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone I meet. I’m not preaching a health, wealth and prosperity, on this earth, message! I will be offering the gift of an ETERNAL LIFE of health, wealth and unspeakable pleasure!
“2Cor 12:17-18 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
I do believe in a God who can do ANYTHING! I believe that prophecy, tongues, and healings are for today! And I am excited to see the power of God displayed in these ways so that the people will praise His Holy name!
“Acts 3:6-8 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.”
I am going to show the Heavenly fathers love to orphans who have never know the love of their earthly parents.
“James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”
I am going to feed the hungry, cloth the naked and set the oppressed and captive free!
I am going to see the name of Jesus spread into all the world
I going to change lives by the power of God and the love of Jesus!
I am going to advance the Kingdom of God and see sisters and brothers added into my family!
I am going on the world race missions trip to see this happen!
I’m not trusting in my stenghth or ability but in the power of Jesus Christ!
“Matt 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Ok, now I’m EXCITED!!!!!! What better way could I spend this year? At the end of my life I want to hear my Father say “well done thou good and faithful servant”! And I know one year of missions work is NOT enough! My WHOLE life is to be lived all out for my King! And I deeply desire God to break me, mold me, and change me this year so that my life will look different next year and the next and the next…
I am not a “worthy” ambassador for my God, I have so much sin in my life that I am ashamed off, but as unworthy as I am, I am willing and wanting God to use me to do GREAT things! And I know He will!
And I’m asking you to pray for me, consider giving to the work of ministry going on around the world, and continue the kingdom work here at home!
