Once upon a time, I was lost in this world, had no clue what I was here for and didn’t know what I should do. When I was lost, it was the worst part of my life. Imagine walking into a room full of people for seemingly no reason. You don’t know anyone, and they definitely don’t know you, so you wander around aimlessly for what seems to be an eternity. Until finally, you bump into someone. This someone says I have been waiting for you, I figured you got a little lost on the way. I know it can be rough without directions, so I understand, but it’s not too late, you made it. So, let’s get started! I am sure you had no clue what was going on, but I put you here in hopes that you would find me because I have so many plans for you! I know you didn’t know before, but you were right where I wanted you. This is what I call lost and found. I was once lost and then I found, I found Jesus and He turned my life around.
I think we all can agree that being lost is one of the most overwhelming, frightening, heavy feelings that we can experience in this world. Whether it be spiritually lost or physically, there is something that happens within us that freaks us out when we lose our sense of direction. This is something we would rather avoid, and it can be avoided when we are given those directions early on and even then, we can still lose our way. When we aren’t given directions, we need help and asking for help isn’t always easy. When I was aimlessly walking, I wasn’t definite that I was lost, I just wasn’t necessarily aware of what was taking place.
Well, it is like this in the world still today and if you ask me, at some rate it is getting worse each day. People need our help and they don’t always know how to ask for help, sometimes they don’t even realize that they need help, because they are aimlessly wandering. Which by the way is one of the worst curses, curses are the lack of blessing and one of the biggest blessings is finding our purpose in this world. Our purposes may differ in terms of how we execute it, but ultimately our collective purpose is to share the good news so that the lost can be found and know the love of Jesus.
Some of the problems with this are, in the world today, we are not always prone to offering our help to those that don’t ask and even when they do, we turn our cheek and act as if we didn’t see. Then there is disobedience, based on ourselves, whether it be the thought of being embarrassed, not having time, thinking we aren’t able, lack of faith and the list can go on. The basis is that when the Holy Spirit prompts us to take action, we find all the excuses in the world as to why we can’t. However, I want to encourage all of us to have a burden for the lost. Instead of waiting for an opportunity to arise, we should be looking for an opportunity to help someone else and when it presents itself, follow through.
When you receive Jesus and know what He has done for you, it is not for you to keep to yourself. It is for you to share with others, through your testimony and blessings. God gives to us for us to share with others and it doesn’t always mean material things. God gave us His spirit, power, and authority to share with those who need it. So, even if we are only offering a prayer that will work, because prayer works, believe that. It also doesn’t matter where we are in our spiritual walk, absolutely nothing else matters besides our obedience. You never know whose blessings you are blocking by being disobedient.
If you are reading this and you have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior or you have, but lost your way and want to come back, pray this with me.
Lord,
I come to you today, the best way I know how, and I ask you to forgive me for my sins knowingly and unknowingly. Father, today I accept you as my Lord and Savior. Lord please guide me along the path of righteousness and reveal to me your purpose for my life. Thank you for loving me and accepting me. In your Holy name, I pray, Amen.
