Ginosko is a greek verb meaning to learn to know, come to know, get a knowledge of, perceive, to feel, to experience, to understand, to become acquainted with, etc.
It is also the name of my team, the six other people I will be beginning this 11 month journey with. It defines our thirst to become more acquainted with Christ’s love, grace, and hope. We want to become more knowledgable of the needs around the world and understand the hope that can be brought with His love. It also defines our need to experience something that is more then the “normal” life, more then what we have accepted as success.
Team Ginosko has made the choice, along with the rest of the January 2010 World Race squad, to leave the United States and learn to know hurt, come to know the poor and judged, get a knowledge of other’s needs, to experience poverty, to understand how far love can reach, and to become acquainted with the forgotten children of Christ. Many have gone before us and we have learned through their words how much of an impact we can make in this world. Now it is our turn to set out, guided by faith and prayer, around this big world that in the end is actually quite small.
