Hello,

My name is Alyson Bettencourt from Keller, Texas. God has laid on my heart His plan for me and I am being called into full time ministry.

This past summer I was on a short-term, one week, mission trip in San Antonio. While there, we visited a homeless church, called Life Restored. When all of the street-people left, Pastor Alex, the pastor there, gave a message about living your life out in ministry. At the end of the sermon, he called us up to the front if we felt God calling us out of our comfort zones and into full-time ministry with our lives. The result was overwhelming. Over 50% of our student ministry raised their hands. After returning back home, I prayed for many of months, before God revealed the World Race–Gap Year to me. At first I was hesitant, because I didn’t feel qualified to do this. I was nervous and it was way out of line with the plans I had made for myself. After applying, I prayed and asked God if that was really what he wanted, to show me a sign. Two weeks after I had applied, I got a call from my mobilizer, saying that I was the first person accepted into the World Race–Gap Year Route One. I was in shock, and a series of events after that, proved to me that this is truly what God is calling me to do.

I have received the opportunity to become a missionary, straight out of High school. Through the Adventures in Missions (AIM) Organization, and through their World Race–Gap Year program, I will be traveling to 3 different continents, to the following countries: Honduras, Guatemala, Ethiopia, Cambodia, and Thailand. I will travel all of these places in a span of approximately 9 months.

This exciting opportunity gives missionaries, like myself, the chance to put faith and love into actions. My team and I will be utilizing adventure, ministry, community, and self discovery in order to love the broken, lost, and least of these. While on the world race, we will be partnering with churches and ministries in local communities. Our work will include preaching the gospel, working in orphanages, ministering to women and children that are trapped in prostitution due to human trafficking, and bringing the restoration and hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.

I would like to ask for and appreciate your continued prayers throughout my journey, which I began as soon as I accepted Christ into my heart. I am excited to see how God will move in my life and in the lives of others in the coming year, I hope to be a blessing to those we serve.

I would like to ask if you would consider partnering prayerfully and/or financially with me in my ministry. Any donation will get me closer to my goal. My deadlines are the following:

  • $5,000 – Due 6/15/2017 (Fundraising Goal 1) Currently at 4900.00!!! Praise God!!!
  • $10,000 – Due 8/22/2017 (Fundraising Goal 2)
  • $14,951 – Due 12/29/2017 (Fundraising Goal 3)

Many people prefer to make a smaller monthly gift. If this is something you would like to do, the option is available on the giving page.

The Lord calls us to test Him in Malachi  3:10-

“‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.’”

Anything that you feel called to give to further the kingdom of God, will be returned in abundance.
