So, let me share with you one of the amazing products from the 8 days that I spent in Georgia with the awesome 51 members of the June “O” squad…
Justin Jue, Carin Cownden and Tracy Hagar.
After days of “team building activities” (don’t ask, it would take too long, you’d probably laugh and not believe me), untold amounts of prayer, lots of nervousness, and some definite divine intervention, last Thursday afternoon we were given our team assignments.
Our first assignment was to “go, have fun. Oh and decided on your team name.” Never did I imagine that seven people deciding on a team name would be so easy. As soon as “Jubilee” was suggested, there seemed to be instant and unanimous approval. The first thing I thought of was a verse that was given to me in 2006-Job 8:21
and your lips with shouts of joy!
(Thanks, Michealle). At the time, I couldn’t see how this verse made any sense in my life at all. It was so sweet to realize in that moment with my new team members, His promise has come to pass.
So, these are the people who I will be living, serving, traveling, crying, LAUGHING (we quickly realized that we can live up to our name), sweating, loving, praying, building, hoping and learning with. They will be my encouragers, accountability partners, late-night conversation partners, leaders, work-out buddies, community, suppliers of everything I forgot, prayer partners, family.
Please be in prayer for us as we all start leaving home and arriving in Kiev, Ukraine by June 17th. There will most likely be one more update before I leave the country.
Love, peace, and grace,
Aly
