So this is from about a week ago. Sorry it’s somewhat random, but right now I’m blessing you guys with all of the randomness in my head.

Just to start off with the context of my last two weeks …
Our alumni squad leaders right now are Jenny Brown and Jacob Hoyer. I have
watched them pour out, pour out, pour out into us. They’ve challenged our
squad, counseled us, comforted, encouraged, called us out, answered questions
about finances…yeah, I can’t even begin to start an exhaustive list of how
really amazing they are and the impact they have had on our family. Sum it
up-right now they are shepherding this family, this O squad church. Their role
on the field will end after this month in Kenya. After that, they will be back
in the States, going after what God has for them next…and probably getting a
few phone calls in the middle of the night from O squad once in a while.

Over the last three months I believe their most important
role has been the time they’ve spent seeking the Lord for the squad. I can’t
imagine the hours they have spent in prayer for us. It’s ridiculously evident
that they are operating out of a place where the only thing that is going to
work for O squad is what God has for us. So during that time seeking the Lord
they made a decision that has definitely shaken up the squad…literally. Change
was needed. So it happened.

Friday morning, immediately after The Awakening
and our first day of O squad debrief, new teams were announced. Although my
immediate reaction when I first heard about team changes was skepticism, I do
not have a doubt in my mind that, once again, God handpicked these teams that
we’re on. I’ve been so honored to have the opportunity to sit and see each team
“debrief their new team, what they hope for this next season, while
encouragement and challenge are issued to each member of each team. It’s
absolutely crazy! This is what this squad needed. This is what each of us on O
squad needed for this season. I know, I shouldn’t be surprised that God came
through in amazing ways again. But it’s exciting and encouraging beyond belief.
We should be coming up with a team name soon. So I’m going to wait until that
happens to announce to you the new members of my once-again amazing team.  😉
