saying “chao” in ecuador was very challenging..

mabe and fabi: my ecuadorian parents. they have shown me nothing but unconditional love and kindness. mabe has such a motherly heart. she radiates love and gratitude. fabi has the biggest heart for us racers and for the Father. they never let me go to bed without feeling loved- a simple “love you ally” and a hug just made me feel so at home. i miss you both tons and tons, but I’ll be back to see you!

kimberly and deiby: cousins, my little cousins. these two lit up any room you walked into. the first thing deiby would say to me every single time he saw me was “tramposa” (which means cheater in spanish). he had it in his head that the first time we played uno I cheated and just know that I DIDN’T, and yeah, thats how the name stuck. total sweetheart. one of my very first memories of kimberly is that while we were playing uno, she came up to me and forced herself onto my lap to play uno with me- she always played the wrong color (on purpose), always played out of turn and also told EVERYONE what cards we had.

on the last day of ministry in ecuador, kimberly and deiby came up to me, looked me right in the eyes and said “te extraño.” I had no other option that to just cry while hugging them. the letter translates to pretty much they want me to come back (it says that like 3 times), they will miss me a lot and they love me. aghhhh
