“ For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Mathew 6:21 ESV
I’ll never forget my first mission trip to Honduras about 8 years ago. God got a hold of me after the first couple of days of that trip and began to show me why I was really there.
I knew I was there to help and serve other people but I had no idea how God would move in my heart. By the end of the trip, my heart was full and I could feel the Holy Spirit there.
I have his one memory and it’s one of my fondest memories from Honduras! It always overtakes the other ones.
It’s my first year and I’m walking with my mom and our translator. We get to this one house and a older lady lives there with her 9 grandchildren she is taking care of. We talk to her for awhile and share Jesus with her. After we prayed with her, and it was time to leave, she gave me a corn husk doll that she had made by herself. I was astounded because she sold them to make income for her grandchildren. But, she gave that to me as a thank you for sharing Jesus with her. I said thank you in Spanish with tears in my eyes and she gave me a kiss and a hug while saying something in Spanish to me.
What she may have not realized is that she was part of the reason I kept going back to Honduras year after year. Even though I never saw her again, I saw and shared Jesus with people just like her. One of my sweet spots every year was working with the children!
With my upcoming mission trip with The World Race, I hope and pray for opportunities like I had in Honduras. I want to be bolder in the way I share or talk about God. I’m praying for the opportunity to share Jesus with people that may have never heard before!
Please prayerfully consider helping me on my journey as I prepare for this 11 month mission trip. I’ll be leaving in January but I have to raise my own funds..now. You can donate right from my blog by clicking on the “donate” button or contact me if you have any questions. I appreciate your prayers for me and my team. Please let me know that you are praying for us, I would love to share that with my team!
In Christ,
