"The Heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky proclaims the work of his hands."
Psalm 19:1

Last Saturday, September 22, I woke up at 3:30 am to hike up a mountain and watch the sunrise. There are not enough words to describe the sight before me. It was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. God’s glory was on display for all to see. As I sat in awe of His greatness and majesty, I remembered Jesus’ conversation with Nathanael. As incredible as it was, I felt God saying, “You think this is cool, just wait Allyson, you will see greater things than this!” I’m not sure how much greater it can get, but I have learned not to underestimate God. He reveals more and more of His many mysteries everyday. And… this is only month one!

As I sat in worship on top of the mountain I had nothing but praise and joy in my heart. This is the scripture God brought me to:

“I exalt you my God the King, and praise Your name forever and ever.
I will praise you every day; I will honor Your name forever and ever.
Yahweh is great and is highly praised; His greatness is unsearchable.
One generation will declare Your works to the next, and will proclaim Your mighty acts.
I will speak of Your glorious splendor and Your wonderful works.
They will proclaim the power of Your awe-inspiring works, and I will declare Your greatness.
They will give a testimony of Your great goodness and will joyfully sing of Your righteousness…
All you have made will praise You, LORD; the godly will bless you.
They will speak of the glory of Your kingdom and will declare Your might, informing all people of Your mighty acts and of the glorious splendor of Your kingdom.
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom; Your rule is for all generations.
The LORD is faithful in all His words and gracious in all His actions…
All eyes look to You, and You give them their food in due time.
You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing…
The Lord is near all who call out to Him, all who call out to Him with integrity.
He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him…My mouth will declare the LORD’s praise; let every living thing praise His holy name forever and ever!!”

Today, wherever you are, I pray that the Lord reveals His glory to you. Maybe it will be through a sunrise or sunset that you watch from your back porch. Maybe it will be through the laughter of a child or through the glistening eyes of a widow. Maybe it will be through the wisdom of a friend, or through a quiet whisper. Maybe it will be through His word. He loves to give to those who ask. Don’t forget to praise Him today. He is sooo good!!
