Hey FAM!
Ya’ll are probably curious how I am doing, where I have been, and how the Lord has showed up on the World Race thus far. Well, here I am to give you a brief overview of where I am at physically and spiritually.
For this blog, since I have not updated you in a while I am just going to let you know what has been happening in my life for the last 3 months-
Month 1: Phnom Penh, CAMBODIA
In Cambodia we had the incredible opportunity to serve in 2 ministries. On the weekdays we ventured out to a rural provence about an hour away from Phnom Penh. Here we taught at a school called Adore Mission. This is a Christian school for preschool through second grade. their dream is that someday this school would go all the way through 12th grade. This school turned heads in this small, buddhist community but the light of Jesus shines bright from this school. While we were here they were just beginning classes for the year so we got to help in all the hustle and bustle of starting up a school year. We helped clean, teach english, paint and built relationships with the students and teachers.
On the weekends we got to partner with a church call Kinship Cambodia. This church is just starting out but nevertheless is filled with the Holy Spirit and a great community of believers who live like family and empower each other. This church is made up of 95% youth. What a joy it was playing soccer, playing music, cooking, laughing, and getting to know the heartsof these young people.
Month 2: Chiang Mai, THAILAND
Thailand was all squad month! This means that my whole squad, my team included, was at the same location for the whole month in Chiang Mai. We were still in our teams doing ministry but got to partner with another team on our squad as we divided into 3 groups to serve Lighthouse in Action. I was apart of the team who served at Zion Cafe. In working in the cafe I was able to build beautifulrelationships with the people that worked there. I spent the month pouring into, discipling, and discovering what itlooked like to pursue people the way that Jesus does.
Month 3: Penang, MALAYSIA
My team and I are now here in Penang, Malaysia. This month we get to take part in all kinds of ministries! From meeting practical needs of people in the community like cleaning houses to intercession, prayer, and worship for this beautiful city at Penang’s International House of Prayer. Working at a pop up shop to becoming camp counselors for the first youth summer camp in Penang (where 132 campers gave their lives to christ). I have encountered God in more ways then one since being here in Malaysia. He has developed in me a huge heart for this area and all the beautiful people that live here. When we arrived, one thing that we were told was “if you want a heart for something, prayfor it.” That is what I feel God is teaching me right now and man,has he changed my heart through this.
I pray for all the wonderful people and ministries God has put in my path thus far on this journey. I have learned that I cannot do anything without the Him. I can’t bring restoration and healing for these people on my own because he is the healer and the only one who can restore. He was there before I got there and is still with them and has allowed me to see a little piece of how much he loves them. He allows me to take part in advancinghis kingdom and guides me so gracefully. I invite you to take part in praying for all these incredible people that God has blessed with a dream and a vision for their community. They are changing the world and I feel so blessed to be able to come along side them for a month and help them get a step closer to their dreams.
