You make a baby cry 2 times in a span of 5 minutes when you smile at her
You see women with long sleeve shirts, long pants, and headdress get on a banana boat in the ocean
You watch 101 Dalmatians 10+ times in one month because it’s the only English movie in your hostel
Your teammates have the ingenious idea to make grilled cheese sandwiches by using the iron and it’s SO good!
You walk to the supermarket just so you can eat waffles on a stick that you can put chocolate, peanut butter, or jam on and only cost 1 Ringet (33 cents). And they are the most wonderful treat EVER!
You have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for breakfast and lunch every day of the month so you can afford that one trip to KFC for breakfast you’ve been planning all month
You go to an insanely unique restaurant called QQ Café that has heart decorations everywhere, Christmas lights, and a ghetto plastic ball play pen for kids. You get chicken nuggets and fries for what is equal to just a little more than 1 US dollar. But you can’t go to said restaurant with more than 1 other person or you will get drastically less French fries than you do when you go with fewer people
The stand across from your hostel sells fried dough and other super strange snacks but you get something from them everyday and love the easy access to cheap deliciousness.
You and 3 or your teammates play solitaire at the same table and it never phases you that you could play a game together that would probably be more entertaining.
You have played more solitaire in this one month than you have in the past 6 years of your life
You go walking with your teammate every morning and find a friend in a cow and name him Riolito. He stands up whenever you walk by to encourage you to keep going
A police officer stops you one morning on your walk and asks you tons of questions but then realize that he just wanted to practice his English and practice all he knows on you.
The police come to your ministry when it gets broken into to take pictures of the damage and half the time is spent taking pictures of the officers in random hats and taking a picture of you and your teammates
There are shoe marks on the western toilets sometimes because some of the Malay people don’t understand you are supposed to sit on them, not stand on them
There is a smoothie shop called Cool Blog and you simply have no idea where that name comes from
You go on a vacation to a city a few hours away and you’re so excited because they are known for their strawberries!
You find on said vacation, that you can get ANYTHING shaped like a strawberry if you want. Umbrellas, pillows, flip flops, air fresheners, anything!
You frequent the supermarket nearby for food, but your favorite find was High School Musical playing cards for less than a dollar.
