Dearest Friends and Family,

I hope this letter finds you EXCEEDINGLY well! I have some exciting news to share with you and want you to walk in step with me in this next season of my life. An update on what ?has ? been happening over the last 2 years – I graduated from UNT in December of 2016, moved to Washington, D.C. for an internship with  a U.S. Congressman then moved home to Dallas, TX where you will currently find me working at a Real Estate Law Firm filing Mortgages.

Along this journey, I was re-introduced to the Lord’s love around September of last year and my heart has been broken and on fire for Him ever since. I’ve been learning more about serving others, what REAL introspection looks like (not just teenage angst) and I’ve been finding my sense of purpose in life through Christ.

In April I was accepted to a program called the World Race through the nonprofit Adventures in Missions. This happened out of nowhere and was a huge ‘ol jab in the side to the plans I had been making in my own life; The World Race is an 11 month long journey spanning 11 countries and a whole slew of ministry. My specific Race goes through what is known as the 10/40 region – the most unreached region in terms of Christianity ranging from Japan all the way to the Middle East. We will be living out of backpacks, tents and hostels and spending one month in each country we visit.  I’m set to  leave January 1, 2019.

If your thoughts are mimicking my parents initial reaction: “You’re giving up a stable job, a blessed life in Dallas and you’re throwing all of your finances into sleeping in hostels?” YOU BET.

I’m an advocate for pushing for REAL community and fellowship in a time where we are desperate for true human connection – I believe that in addition to sharing the Gospel I have been called to learn from the families in these countries what it is like to live outside of the realms of technology(mostly) and pierce the hearts of man so that people know they are seen and loved and then bring that back home.   If you want to get to know me a little better, understand my passion behind this or just like to read,  you can follow my journey at? ?ALLISONVICKERS.THEWORLDRACE.ORG?? via my blog.

Or you can walk this journey ?RIGHT. THERE. WITH. me. This mission trip is so much more than just going to talk about Jesus – it’s about living like Him and serving the least of us. As of the day I am sending out this letter to you, I am? ??$8,800 ??away from being fully funded for this trip.? If you are interested in supporting me financially, please go to that blog site for a donation link & instructions for mailing checks.

??(All donations are tax deductable; 501c3 nonprofit)

Beyond that, ?pray for my teammates, me and everyone we get to connect with on the field. God will bless this trip, but I don’t want you to miss out – you never know what, or who, is on the other side of your yes. Love you all!
