Dear family, friends, and strangers reading Allison’s blog,
This blog was not written by Allison, but by the other members of her team. As Team Joyful Fortitude, we have been with Allison since day one of her World Race journey. We have gotten to see her grow and serve the Lord in India, Nepal, Vietnam, and Cambodia. We wanted to take a moment to share with you how God is moving in and through Allison`s life.
Linsey: Allison has such a servant heart. In every country she is always finding ways to connect with our ministry host. One of my favorite memories of Allison walking in this was in Nepal. On our last day in the jungle she learned how to make a Nepali dish called momo’s. The next day our squad stopped for lunch. Lunch wait was longer than usual, so Allison jokingly offered to help in the kitchen. The owners took the offer. Not only was she in the kitchen but also she was teaching us how to make momos. Allison inspires me to dive in the culture more and invest more time with the people I encounter. Thanks Ally!
Jenna: Allison has become not just a teammate but a dear friend and sister to me over the last few months. I have loved getting to know her and share laughter, tears, frustrations, and moments of joy together. I loved being roommates in Vietnam and all of our chats over sweet iced coffee. This race has not been easy and I don’t know what I would have done without her there. Her personality is warm and inviting and her smile contagious. I have seen her fully embrace new cultures and invest so much in the people she meets. I have also seen so much personal growth whether it be stepping up to preach or leading worship for our whole squad. It is so evident to me that she was made for this kind of work and I am so excited to see how the Lord will continue using her in it!
Janibel: Allison is such an amazing woman of God. I’ve seen her grow in her love for missions and people around her. She serves the people we meet so well. It is truly admirable. When things get tough Allison always has a smile on her face (I don’t think I’ve ever seen her upset). She is filled with so much joy and her smile is so contagious. She also does an awesome job and playing the guitar and worshiping the Lord. I can’t wait to see where God leads her! I love Allison! Our team wouldn’t be the same without her.
Quinn: Allison has been such a joy to work with the past 4 months. She has so much wisdom. She always knows the right answer to give and an amazing encourager. It is so evident that the Lord is working in her life. She is often the last one on our team to check out and the first one to immerse herself in all the little games. I hardly ever hear her complain and she always has a smile on her face. It is so evident that the Lord has called her to be a missionary as she knows how to find joy in every situation. She is always laughing! She is continually learning new things, whether that be the language or how to make the local food. It has been so much fun watching her step out in obedience and I can’t wait to see where the Lord takes her.
Hillary: Allison truly embodies the word joyful and kindness. No matter where we are we can always find Allison pursuing a relationship with a local because she is just that wonderful. In Nepal she sought out our ministry host’s and made them feel appreciated and cherished. I
She is smiley, compassionate, loving, wise, and really seeks after the Lord. It has been incredible seeing her self discipline in Learning guitar, learning scripture, and realizing her gift as being a missionary. It has been a joy being Allison’s teammate and I’ve simply learned that we could ALL really learn a thing or two from the way Allison leads her life for the Lord.
Anna Beth: I have often told Allison that she would be the perfect addition to a Broadway musical. Why? Because Allison carries an incredible amount of joy and spunkiness. She never lacks energy and is always rearin to go. This woman has a God given natural love for the nations. I have seen her grow so much over the past four months. Her confidence in the Lord has grown as well as her confidence in who God has made her to be. What a privilege it has been to see her run, not walk, into the calling God has put on her life to do missions overseas for the rest of her life. I’m soo excited to see where God leads her in the years to come. She is kind. She is teachable. She is patient. She is walking into more and more freedom everyday. I’m thankful for her!
Thank you to each person who has supported Allison on this journey through prayer, encouragement, and donations. Our team would be lacking without Allison’s presence. She still has $2007 to raise before the final financial deadline, April 30. We ask that you would pray and consider donating to help her reach the final financial deadline.
Thank you so much for praying for and supporting our team, through sending Allison!
Much love,
The Joyfuls
