This past weekend, I had the wonderful opportunity to speak at my parent’s church about the World Race. What I mean by that is I got to talk to the pastor, who let me show the awesome video on the homepage of the World Race website and speak for thirty seconds (Check out the video at worldrace.org). It is a good thing that he only gave me thirty seconds because that video makes me tear up and I couldn’t get myself together before being put in front of 150 or so people.
Literally, I got up in front of a bunch of people and basically cried while thanking them for supporting me.
Afterwards, I got to meet most of the amazing people my parents call their church family. I gave them magnets I made, and they were so nice and encouraging to me. One of these interactions sticks out in my head.
One of their youth walks up to me and says, “What you’re doing is so inspiring, and I want to exactly what you’re doing one day.”
We talked a little more about how he wanted to go to Bible College, and I encouraged him to follow God wherever he leads. What I realized from that conversation is that when you step out to follow your dream, regardless of how crazy or scary it may seem, you inspire others to follow their dreams.
So many people don’t follow their dreams because they don’t think it is possible. They think they will fail or they don’t have the money or no one will support them. However, if God has placed that dream in your heart, none of those things will matter. What seems like a failure may be a set up for success. What looks impossible is a chance for God to show himself capable.
I want to encourage you to follow whatever dream is stirring in your heart. You never know who you may inspire to follow theirs.
