Hello there,

It seems as though you’ve found yourself in transition. Be it moving, a job change, losing a loved one, or gaining new loved ones. Things will never be how they’ve been before again. You feel tossed by the wind, a little battered around the edges. It’s ok to have those feelings.

They tell you the future is bright and there are things to look forward to. While that is certainly true, you are also sad that an end has occurred. Many people reference the point you’re at as starting a new chapter. Although right now it feels more like the end of a good book. You close the last page and sit there for a moment savoring the last words with a pang in your heart that there is nothing left to read. A new book can be just as good or even better, but that doesn’t change the fact that this book has ended.

Most of the time, you can face this transition with a brave face. You know it’s good for you to be in this place. You try to make all these last moments count. You laugh a little harder and smile a little bigger as though you don’t have a care. Walking away from those moments, part of you feels the finality of what you’re experiencing.

With the holidays coming up, you’re feeling sentimental. No holiday season before has quite felt like this one. The scents and the music bring up special memories of holidays past. Sometimes embracing the season is the only way you cope. It’s the one thing that occurs like clockwork you can count on.

I want to tell you that I know where you’re at. Don’t let this season overwhelm you. Things are changing, but let yourself really experience the change. Trying to lessen the blow of change you’re feeling will only make it worse. You’ll adjust to the new situations that are coming. Take a breath, say a prayer, but don’t give up on this change. You’ve got what it takes to make it through where you are now. Believe me.

With Love,
Allison
