So you probably clicked into this blog thinking, “A stranger gave you $1500? That’s quite a bit of money.” Or maybe even, “Is there a way that can happen to me?” Well let me tell you, my God can do crazy things like that when you are living in obedience to him. So are you curious how I got such a sum from someone whose name I don’t know? This is how it happened.
So one Sunday a few weeks ago, a new woman came to my parent’s church. She brought a baby with her. My mom, who loves babies, approached her and asked to hold her baby. They began talking and my mom shares about my siblings and me. This included sharing that I was doing the World Race this year. Apparently the woman had known people who had done the World Race. The conversation continued and they went on to enjoy the church service.
Now the following Sunday, the lady and her baby came back to church. My mom asked to hold her baby again (She REALLY loves babies). They begin to talk again and the woman asks how I was doing. My mom shares about how many of my sqaudmates have been sick. She asks about my fundraising and my mom told her how I needed $1500 by the end of the month. She gets out her checkbook saying how she wants to help. She ends up writing a $1500 check!
So I would like to give a big THANK YOU to this wonderful woman whose name I don’t even know, as well as all of my supporters. Because of you guys I have met my February deadline and only have $3700 left to raise by April! God is so good and stories like this just confirm that he has called me to this race.
