"Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." -Ephesians 5:1-2

This is our team verse where our name, The Cologne of Christ, was derived from. And we chose it for a few reasons:

1. The obvious: fragrance = cologne
2. The irony: we're an all girl team (hence no cologne)
3. The clever-ness: we are to be imitators of Gods, or clones (as much as humanly possible)

And of course, we want to shine the light, hope, and love of Christ everywhere we go, to affect change in peoples' lives.

So here we are…

From L to R: Me, Katie, Robin, Megan, Sarah, Danielle, and Kaysie

Katie is someone that I bonded with right off the bat. Maybe it's the ginger thing, I don't know. 🙂 But I do know that she has such a heart and concern for others. She puts the needs of other people above her own, and I admire her so much.

Robin may be a bit on the quieter side when you first meet her, but I can already see that changing. This girl pores over the Word of God and has so much deep wisdom and insight. I wish I had half her eloquence! It's obvious that she's super tight with Jesus.

Megan is our team leader, and I am so thankful for her. Her style of leadership is to love and nurture. It is evident from the moment you meet her that she aims to include everyone and make them feel special. Such an encourager! Bonus: She loves Cam Newton too. Holla.

Sarah emanates joy – her smile is absolutely contagious. Just being around her puts me at ease and calms me down when I'm in stress mode. 🙂 The description that comes to mind when I think of her is "quiet strength".

Danielle is going to be our team jokester, I know that for a fact. I can totally appreciate her sarcasm, and I'm sure her sense of humor will be welcome especially during the tense moments of the race. I view her as a strong woman of God who knows her worth in Christ.

Last but not least! I can completely relate to Kaysie in being a more reserved personality, but I know that she is going to find her voice in Christ this year and become comfortable being bold (as am I). I can't wait to see God continue to work in the life of this daughter of His.

So there you have it, my team! I could not be more excited to do life and ministry with these ladies for as long as God keeps our team together. Each one of them radiates the love of Christ, and I can't wait for us to go out and spread that around the world.
