Today has been a great day. It’s been a while since I had a great day. It was a nice change from all the seriousness of the work that God is doing in me. Let me give you a rundown of the day so far.
8:40am – Wake up. Run my hands through my unshowered hair. Contemplate having a shower, then decide against it because I know it’ll be freezing. Consider it again seeing as I haven’t showered in three days. Confirm my original decision. This is the World Race.
9:07am – Walk to the church and stuff three delicious buns with some kind of mystery meat down my throat with some glorious coffee. The mug definitely says “Proud to be an American” and I didn’t even care.
10:12am – Walk back to the 4-story unfinished mansion that we live in for family time which consisted of listening to LMFAO, chair dancing, and of course coloring with pastels. I know you’re jealous. Of course we had feedback as well, which wasn’t as fun, but just as necessary.
12:52pm – Walk back to the church for lunch at which someone threw a very large bottle of water at my face and that resulted in my plate being shattered on the floor. Lo siento….
1:58pm – My team and team Kadesh travel upstairs to work out a skit for youth tonight. All of us get great joy out of trying to figure out something that won’t result in wildly inappropriate humor.
2:47pm – Walk to the other end of the town which seems miles and miles away to play with kids and snuggle with babies.
3:20pm – Arrive at said part of town and entertain great will power to not run around snatching kids and stuffing them into my backpack.
4:11pm – a sleeping child who is about the same size as Parker is passed into my arms. I cannot contain my joy.
5:04pm – I spot a baby that is about 6 months old. That baby is in my arms faster than you can say adoption.
5:16pm – Start walking back to our house. I spot a sunflower and almost poop myself from excitement. Love them so. much.
5:24pm – A very loud parade turns onto the street infront of us. We all run and pretend we are in the parade. Someone yells at me that there is an extremely chunky perrito (puppy) up ahead. I once again, cannot contain my joy as I sprint toward it.
6:28pm – Writing this blog, someone plops a gigantic bag of popcorn infront of me.
And this day is not even finished. I am feeling extremely overwhelmed by God’s love today. I definitely needed it today. Oh Peru, you just keep getting better.
