We as a team have decided to do a bible study together. We are starting off in the book of Romans, which is perfect because I just finished reading through Acts. Also perfect because we just took a trip to Italy, and while we didn’t get to go to Rome, we were only a 5 hour drive from it, which is definitely the closest I’ve ever been.
Anyway, we started our study of Romans today, and it just happened to be right after my nap,
therefore, I was definitely half asleep for most of it.
So I’m not a perfect christian.
Sue me.
I was listening to my teammates talk about their thoughts on the passage,
and my very wise and beautiful teammate Olivia
said something that really resonated.
Her words were something similar to this:
“It’s not about understanding, it’s about following.”
BoomRoasted.
Why had I never thought about that before?
I try to understand so much.
I try to wrap my tiny brain around the things that I was never meant to understand.
I try to make sense of the things that don’t need to make sense.
“Oh child, where is your faith?”
I don’t have to understand why God asks me to do the things He does,
or why things never go the way I think they should.
I simply need to follow.
It’s about trusting.
It’s about following.
Not understanding.
Well, daaaaannngg.
Now dat’s whut I call freedom.

(Annnnd here’s a really awesome team picture.
We pretty, ain’t we?)
