“Where’s your nametag?” he asked, “You know my name but I don’t’ know yours.”

“I don’t have it.” I replied, “I left it at home and now I can’t find it.”

“Well, since you don’t have a nametag, and I don’t know your name, today you will be Beautiful . . . “

At that moment I felt loved, cherished, and cared for in a manner beyond what this stranger had ever meant.

This is what God wants for us. He wants us to know that we are loved beyond what we can comprehend and yet, constantly, I forget how much God loves and wants to know my heart. I am a daughter and a princess in His eyes, but I am constantly forgetting the weight and value of the crown on my head. My mind gets filled with the perspectives of the world’s standards of love, and forgets the origin of love itself.

Anything that the world offers is flawed, but God’s love for His sons and daughters is perfect, untainted, and eternal.

Here are a few reasons why I believe that the God’s version of love is better than any love you will encounter in this fallen world:

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38

“Even as He chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will.” Ephesians 1:4-5

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9-10

“Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.” Proverbs 31: 30-31

There is nothing I have ever encountered in media nowadays that captures the honor, respect, depth, love, and encouragement that God gives to all of His children. God doesn’t need to see a nametag to know who we are, He CHOSE us for His glory and, for me, to be deliberately and eternally chosen is one of the greatest loves I have received.
