I haven’t written on this site because I have been crazy. Truly, I have no excuse to give you other than I am human, and I get caught up in the moment, and I forget to let you amazing people know what I am up to these days, and fill you in on the amazing opportunity I had to see my squad in Albania.

First, Albania – one of the most delicious countries I have encountered in Eastern Europe. Placed between two amazing culinary countries (Italy and Greece), Albania once again proved to have the best souvlaki and pizza for the cheapest prices!

But better than that, I got to visit the beautiful L Squad. I am so blessed to have spent five months with each and every person on this squad; they truly embrace the community and “philo”-type love that sprout in all the church stories in the new testament. I spent over 32 hours listening, encouraging, challenging, praying, and loving these people over a span of four short days, and was able to hear the testimonies of how the Lord is sovereign and always will be! More than that, even after the race, I was challenged to obey the Lord . . .

The leadership team approached me before coming to the debrief asking if I would lead worship one night. If you know anything about me, I am not a soloist, in any way, so the idea of leading worship sounded like a great opportunity to collaborate. Unfortunately, I ran out of time – once again the world got in the way, and I didn’t find time to bring a group together – and was stuck as a soloist. At least I had a guitar . . . to hug for support because there was no capo to change the key. I soon realized the ridiculousness of hugging, and not playing, a guitar, and left it on the side of the room. I walked in front of the crowd, and prayed for the Lord to provide. Thankfully, the Lord showed up, and our squad walked in freedom to take larger risks for Jesus, and I, once again, was terrified and confident that the Lord was present.

It was a great week of encouragement, catching up, and helping out the leadership however I could. It was great because, not only was I able to grow more in obeying the Lord, I was also able to aid those who are still on the field as a fresh, spritely American firework.

Here comes the hook, look out!

L Squad will be finishing their 11 months at the end of July, and i have been given the amazing opportunity to help them out, once again, in the midst of their final goodbyes. For the week I will be with them, I will be able to help out the leadership team in planning events for the squad’s final goodbyes, closing up financial spreadsheets, and sharing my experiences off-the-field for the six months I have been in America.

If you would like to help me go to the L Squad final debrief,  please feel free to donate to my account. Know that there is a way for me to get there, but I would love to invite you to finish the last few strides of this race with me!
