“I thank my God in all my remembrances of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with you, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 1:3-6

I am a work in progress. That is what this month has taught me. It wasn’t until this month that I realized how much I need the Lord to help me get through every single day. This month the Lord has brought me through some of the craziest experiences in my life, but He has given me a peace and a hope and a joy in Him. He has increased my prayer life and my involvement in the Church body, but I don’t want to stop here.

Yesterday was Thanksgiving, and I realized I didn’t spend any time digging into what the Lord has blessed me with in my life. I am thankful that I have a family and friends who support me and love me beyond my knowledge. I am thankful for all of the struggles that the Lord has brought me through this month. I am thankful to be in an orphanage in Cambodia, surrounded by twenty amazing children of the Lord, and having the opportunity to love on them day after day. And, most importantly, I am thankful that I am not a complete work.

Just imagine what it would feel like to just STOP growing. Stop growth: physically, spiritually, and mentally. Imagine being told at the age you are now that you are complete. Finished. You are the way you are going to be for the rest of your life.

Some of you may be completely ecstatic about the idea of being where you are, but I am almost positive that you are not entirely satisfied with everything that has happened in your life. We are human and still make mistakes; that is the reason we need a savior. I know that I am still pretty young but, even at this age, I have come to realize that the Lord still has many things to work in me that may take the rest of my life to figure out. And I am thankful for that.

So, Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Be thankful that there is always time to change and grow! My video from Cambodia will be up soon, which gave me at least thirty more reasons to be thankful in the Lord! God Bless!
