Hard to believe, but today is the halfway point on our journey around the world.
It really hasn’t sunk in that after today we will be on the downhill slope back into the States. Exciting and terrifying all at once. It seems that so much of life so far has led to this place, so where does that lead me next?
At the same time, there are still 6 amazing months to soak up as much of God as I can. I have met a God out here that is not the same God that I knew at home. I feel like every blog I write is the same—it is always about meeting a God here who is so much bigger and so much better than the God I knew in the States. But, I sit here again and that is all that comes through to the keyboard. I am confident that my call from the Lord is to introduce America to this God, but my question is how does that conversation start?
Dear America, you are missing it. Is that how it goes?
Dear America, please come out here and find a God who is so in love with you that he literally MOVES heaven and earth to show you. How about that?
Dear America, there is a God out here who waits to romance you, who wants to fulfill every desire that he has given you, who wants to just BE with you. Any better?
Dear America, WAKE UP! That is what I want to shout. Wake up to the God who is hotly pursing you each and every single day.
Luckily, I still have 6 months to work out how the conversation will go. Luckily, you only have 6 more months to read the rough drafts!
I do know that the past 5 ½ months have been the best and hardest months of my life. There have been countless laughs, countless moments of awe, countless times I have turned to my new family and said “is this really our life???”, countless tears, countless times when I would have gladly hopped on a plane to anywhere but here—but countless times God has met me here, there and everywhere in between.
A common phrase around here is “The will of God will never lead you to somewhere the grace of God can not keep you” and boy is it true. We are living proof. The Grace of God continues to meet each and every single one of us exactly where we are led. Along the way we are allowed to love on people that we meet, introduce them to the King of Kings and then trust and believe that God will continue his will in their life.
I have all of you to thank for this journey. Every single one of you that has laughed with me, prayed with me, cried with me, sent cards, gifts, money, etc…Thank you will never be enough. Never. I pray daily that God will bless you for your faithfulness to me.
Just for fun, we have been compiling a little list that represents some of the things have become “normal” to us, but probably just make our lifestyle seem downright crazy. Here is just a sampling:
You know you are a World Racer when…
You can find 4 different currencies in your purse.
You share lunch with a chicken, a cat and roach all in one day!
You are genuinely thrilled to see a real toilet with real toilet paper!
It is perfectly normal to jump in random cars, with people you don’t know and go to an unknown location and you never think twice.
You find yourself praying for movie characters!
Someone mails you cookies and you are almost more excited about the brand new Ziploc that the cookies arrive in.
More to come friends…love you all.
