Hi Friends! We have just made a 12 hour trek back across the Cambodia-Thai border and are currently in our beloved Bangkok for about 36 hours.

Cambodia was so far my favorite month on the race. The people of Cambodia are the most adorable, warm, inviting people I have met and certainly filled us with a love for their country. It was also in Cambodia that I saw God in a new way; through the eyes of some VERY on-fire for God men and women. Their passion, excitement and commitment to God astounded me and challenged me.

Many of you know that I committed to 30 days of prayer for this country and it was extremely fruitful in my personal walk with the Lord. I was still able to do and see many ministries and all from a very prayerful-perspective. I wanted to share with all of you some pictures of our month and hope to spread the love of Cambodia back to everyone at home.

Our first stop in Cambodia was to educate ourselves on the war-torn history of the country. We toured Tuol-Sleng, which was one of the torture prisons used during the Khmer Rouge. It is safe to say I was unaware of horrific things that occurred here during my lifetime.

This was a room in the prison and some torture instruments.

Everywhere we went there were precious little children. My heart broke for the orphans that we saw in so many places.

The traffic in Phnom Penh was unlike anything I have ever seen. This was a street we crossed often. Just take a deep breath, say a little prayer and off you go!

Of course, the moto bikes are used for all sorts of fun reasons–like moving!

Because we were “in the area”, we took a weekend trip over to Vietnam. Yet another country I really didn’t have a full understanding of their past. It is safe to say we learned more this month that in 18 years of history class!

Halloween fell during our time in Phnom Penh and we had a costume contest! The challenge was to either make something from your bag or spend $3 at the Russian Market. I opted for the “backpack costume’ and a fun time was had by all.

Of course, no trip to Cambodia is complete without a trip to Angkor Wat!

We have thoroughly enjoyed all of our time in Cambodia and are heartbroken to goodbye to so many good friends. I pray the Lord truly holds them in the palm of his hand.
