Elizabeth was one of those people who came into my life during a very specific season for a very specific reason. This woman taught me how to go completely outside of my comfort zone and do “ministry” unlike anyone I have ever known. It didn’t matter where we were, the bush in Mozambique, a college campus in China, she could out love, out talk and out communicate anyone on the squad. It took her all of 5 seconds to make friends with the locals and she could miraculously learn their language while she was at it.

Scaife single-handedly taught me that it was about me and challenged me to look beyond my circumstances to see what the Lord was up to. She has amazing vision and the ability to look beyond herself and her circumstances. She was constantly journaling and I have no doubt the thoughts in that journal are deeper than anything I could come up with on my best day.

Scaife saved us in Mozambique where they only spoke Portugese and we didn’t know a word. Somehow, somewhere, she had learned Portugese and I was able to find the bathroom because of it! She loved people like I have never seen anyone love people. The Lord has truly gifted her and put in her so many tools for his kingdom.

She spoke truth and life to me on so many occasions and loved people on our squad in extraordinary ways. I could always count on her to shoot straight with me and she encouraged me when I was doubting myself. It was my honor to learn from her this year and I am thankful for all of our moments together.

Scaife: I am thankful for the time we had together. The Lord taught me so much through you this year, and I am humbled and encouraged by your consistent faithfulness to Him. Thank you for modeling a follower of Jesus for me. I pray that the Lord is blessing you in Amsterdam and am confident you are changing lives there.
