I am rapidly approaching 32 years on this lovely planet. (thanksgiving day is my 32nd birthday!) 32 years. that sounds old. really old. this morning when I was driving to work I was considering how at this point in his life Jesus was nearing the end. I wonder if he knew it was only a little more time. (i kinda think he knew….)It got me thinking: what have I done during my time? What impact have I made? Where do I need to make adjustments to have greater influence? Is Jesus proud of me so far? Have I been a good steward? How should I continue? How do I spend the next 32?
Then I started thinking about all the people I have met, ministries I have served with, and love that I have shared. Then I really started thinking about all of you. The way that YOU have really allowed me to live this life. It really has nothing to do with me. And everything to do with the people that have sent me. The people that believe in me. The people that look at my 32 years and say “YES, we will invest in that”. Around here we are always telling our staff that people support them financially because they believe in them and their vision. I am surrounded by all of you who believe in me and support my vision. That drives me to love a little more, dig in a little deeper and serve a little harder.
