October of 2007 was spent in Phnom Phen, Cambodia. I remember it being an eye-opening experience to live in a country that had had such a traumatic recent history. Touring the Killing Fields and Toulsang Prison are forever burned into my memory. Never had I seen such pain in a country’s eyes.
Orphans abound in a country that has lost so many of this current generation. Most are forced into either living on the street begging, or prostituting themselves to survive. It is a reality that exists right now. As I force feed myself hundreds of christmas calories these kids are on the other side of the world struggling for survival. They are living the unthinkable.
In October of this year a group of 5 women returned to Cambodia to do something. They are not ok with the fact that children as young as toddlers are being used as sex slaves. They are not ok that the people of Cambodia are missing an entire generation of adults because of genocide. They are not ok that these things are happening in our lifetime. So they are doing something about it.
Steph Tyrna went on the World Race in January of 2009 and returned to Cambodia for a 2 year commitment this fall. She and her team are determined to change the face of Cambodia. They believe that Jesus can and will redeem this country in our lifetime. I happen to believe with her. By supporting my ministry you are believing with us.
Please read Steph’s blog for up-to-date info, prayer requests and stories of redemption and beauty in Cambodia.
I am still in need of ministry partners willing to give $32 a month. Please pray about supporting me and the World Race. Year-end tax-deductible donations can be made
here.
