I didn’t get all of my 32 Ways in before my birthday, but I figure we can celebrate all month long, right? I am sad to admit that the $32 campaign is not going as swimmingly as I would hope, so if you think of it and would like to celebrate with me,
please click this link. Every bit helps!
#21-25 The Kenya Initiative
Last spring 5 amazing college-aged students spent some time outside of Nairobi, Kenya. What they saw and experienced there was NOT okay with them. They were moved to action by the poverty, orphans and lack of attention a national crisis was receiving.
Many of us could have seen the same things and had the same emotions. But most of us click through to the next big cause. We are so overwhelmed with the enormity of an issue that we are frozen. Indecision, a feeling of helplessness, and in some cases just plain apathy has shown that we have compassion for problems, but not a whole lot of forward motion. Enter the Kenya Initiative.
These five are MOVING. Moving to Kenya, that is. They are setting up residence smack dab in the middle of an IDP camp (Internally Displace People). They are going to fight the injustice they saw there and shine the light of Jesus in a place full of hopelessness.
Right now we are working together to equip them to move to Kenya, create programs that will be life-sustaining for the Kenyan people and bring lasting change to the Nation. Their mission statement reads:
We exist to see Kenya’s Internally Displaced People become stable, partnering, self-sustaining communities whose members are:
1. Empowered to enact positive change.
2. Equipped to create industry.
3. Engaged in Christ-centered relationships.

I could not be more excited to be a small part in this program. You (my supporters) are allowing me to be a part of shaping these young people into the kind of generation that ACTS to bring change, BELIEVES in something MORE, and HOPES for a better future.
What better investment could your $32 be?
Will you consider giving $32 per month
representing your investment in my life? The best birthday present you
can give me is the opportunity to continue serving the World Race.
