There is only one word to describe Beth: servant. I have never, ever, ever met anyone like her. One of a very, special, kind. My first encounter that I remember with Beth was at training camp. It absolutely boggled my mind that someone would drive from Michigan to Atlanta and just stop and camp along the way. Now, I must say, at this point in the year that seems perfectly normal, but last April that just seemed downright bizarre. She also followed us home from camp in her car and drove straight through into the night to get home. From the beginning, I loved the parts of Beth that were nothing like me! It was so refreshing!
Beth has a most fabulous family and she speaks so passionately about her sister and the nieces and nephews. I loved seeing her love for them and how family-orientated she is. She is counting the days until she goes home and gets to love on them.
Beth is my finance person-extraordinare and I relied so heavily on her this year. We could roll into a new country and need to collect multiple amounts, in multiple currencies for all sorts of things and I could just turn to her and she would handle it. I was always in a tizzy about a million other things and I could count on Beth to work it all out and not stress. She was a huge help to me all year long.
Beth absolutely excelled at servant ministry of every kind. I think she has painted in every country, could always be found cleaning everyone else’s dishes and taking out the trash when no one asked her to. She was also an expert at unclogging showers, toilets, and anything else 26 people could manage to clog.
Along with her amazing servanthood, the Lord has gifted her with a huge vision for the future. It did not take long for God to begin pouring his spirit into her and she started pouring it back out on others. She has an amazing vision for a “house of rest” for missionaries. Because we were blessed so many times throughout the year by places of rest in our travels, Beth has decided to cast the same sort of vision back in Michigan. Please pray with me for Beth, her vision, and all the details that go along with it. She is going to make a huge impact on so many people through her service to them.
Beth, thank you for showing me servanthood. Thank you for loving the Lord in such a way that does not need words, only actions that reflect Him. I love your heart for Jesus and everyone around you. The entire C squad has been blessed by you this year and I am going to miss you so much. Can’t wait to come see you at “Alabanza North” haha!
