Casey Kasem. One of my most favorite guys ever. Casey has been radically chasing the heart of God all year and is stepping into an amazing inheritance because of it.
Casey has been through it this year and we have all been so blessed to stand with him as he goes after God. Casey has the most tender heart and yet leads with a God-given strength.
Casey entertained us all year with his quest of beard growing and it was always a daily topic of conversation. He has an incredibly laidback personality and was always the rock that I needed on travel days. I could always count on him to count heads, chase down missing bags, and just generally do the dirty work everyone else was too grumpy to do.
Throughout the year, Casey loved on people like I seldom see other men doing. He was so willing to open his heart to orphans, widows and other people that were sometimes overlooked. He was awesome at pick-up soccer games and could always be found with a kid thrown over his shoulders. He always had a big grin on his face and is willing to do just about anything for anyone. My fondest memories are of the way that Casey absolutely loved the construction guys in Nicaragua. These were a bunch of guys that many people could easily glance past, but Casey engaged in tough conversations with them and they were the recipients of some amazing wisdom.
Casey is one of the most humble men I have had the privledge of knowing and the Lord is doing huge work in his life. He is stepping into his God-given authority with clean hands and pure heart.
Case, I love ya buddy and will so miss you! Your humility, loyalty, and love for others is amazing to watch and I am honored to call you a friend. Thank you for sticking with us through a lot of tough stuff (and good stuff too), thank you for being so transparent and letting the Lord work on you and in you.
