Mark is one of “those guys”, you know, the type that can fix ANYTHING having to do with computers, cameras, ipods, etc….The lifeline of any World Racer is the computer/ipod/hard drive and Mark has saved MANY of our lives. He never tired of our incessant “Mark!!” when something died, fried, or disappeared. He always showed up with a calm smile and reassuring “what’s up?”
As one of our FOUR World Race men, he also dealt with a lot of spiders, bugs, dirt, and HEAVY bags. We could always count on him to kill, destroy and disarm any scary creature and carry all our extra junk around.
I am forever asking Mark to just “throw a little video together” with absolutely no concept how long it takes him to put together his masterpieces, and the whole squad is forever grateful after we stop grumbling about being followed around by the camera. He is truly gifted in all things electronic and we are so thankful.
In the midst of all the fixing, tweeking and filming, Mark has also done some fantastic ministry this year too. He has one of the tenderest hearts and is AMAZING with kids. Our first three weeks of the year we leaned so heavily on Mark’s creativity and ability to throw together songs and games. He quickly became our go-to-guy anytime we showed up to work with kids without a plan (almost always!).
Mark has a deep loyalty to his family and I have watched him battle financial problems, love, and faith all year. It has been inspiring to me how he handled each situation with grace and growth and he gives me hope there are still good men in the world.
