A quick little update! I will be heading to Training Camp for the World Race this Saturday!! 😀
No one really tells us what to expect at Training Camp. This video was put out to give us a preview of what might be happening. There’s also a post on the official World Race blog that some alumni put together. From what I can tell, we’ll be learning more about our trip and the countries we’re heading to, practicing with our gear (tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, backpacks, etc.), bonding with our squadmates (GO J SQUAD!!), worshiping, hearing speakers, and forming our small teams of 6-8 people, with whom we’ll be serving and living day in and day out for the next eleven months. I can’t wait to finally meet my squadmates (who I may or may not have been Facebook stalking)!! This summer so far has been somewhat lacking in fellowship and I’ve been struggling with bouts of pretty terrible loneliness, but I am so SO excited for God to work this week in whatever ways He will. I trust that He will put me on a team that will push me and change me as well as give me grace and support.
