Can you feel it? The rush of love, truth, hope and assurance, his Holy Spirit dwelling within. It’s confirmation that he is with me and calling me to walk down this unknown path and new journey in life. It’s a complete 180º from where I am and what I’m doing right now. Why would I give up my comforts? My contentment? A brilliant job with the best work-family I could have asked for. A roommate who challenges me in my walk with Jesus and delights in late-night Downton marathons. A church body who is immensely supportive and loving. Spending more time with my sister and soon to be brother-in-law (and who knows… a niece or nephew in the next year?!)
My heart mourns with the thought of these losses: people, experiences or opportunities over the next year. But it’s a sacrifice I am called to make. I am being called to surrender myself in order to live for him. This is going to take a lot of help. I can’t do it alone. I need you too.
Will you pray for me? Will you pray for selflessness on my part, to be willing to be RFA – ready for anything (and everything!). He’s going to call and I’m going to have to move, regardless of my want. Will you pray for love and community between my teammates and I? (We number around 30+) Will you pray for boldness in Christ and his truth to be a witness to the ends of the earth? Will you pray for our health, finances, safety and energy to minister to every person we encounter on this road – in homes in Guatemala, the buses of Colombia, streets of Peru and mountains in Ecuador? Lastly, if not most importantly, will you pray for the hearts of those who we will encounter over the next year, for their openness to truth, God’s love and salvation that comes from Jesus?
I’m heading into training this next week with zero expectations with the exception of being ready to see God work. I cannot wait!

On another joyful note… If you didn’t catch earlier, MY SISTER IS GETTING MARRIED! To this smart guy below 🙂 Praise God for an amazing couple who has the heart, courage, patience and love to plan a wedding in two months. I cannot wait to celebrate their union!!
