It’s official, tomorrow marks the first day of a whole new chapter in my life. Am I ready? Well, I’m certainly excited! I’ll be flying into Atlanta, GA for a few days of WR training before our squad officially leaves this Saturday for our first country, El Salvador.

Where will we be going upon arrival and what will we be doing? During our first month of ministry in El Salvador team Dar Vida will be partnering with Gran Comisión in Puerto La Libertad, El Salvador. We will primarily be assisting with the church’s Nutrition Center and other activities such as crafts, English and music lessons as well as bible studies with kids ages 5-12. Gran Comisión also has a Youth Computer Lab to engage the kids around computer skills and the Gospel.  Another part of our involvement will be helping to design and carry out a similar course for adults. In between we will have opportunities to develop relationships, practice our Spanish and share the Gospel and love of Christ.

Who is Dar Vida? Our entire squad (M-Squad) of 24+ individuals is traveling the same route through Central and South America but we have been broken down into four smaller teams to serve in various parts of the country: Dar Vida (us!), Rayos, Relentless and Unidos Pa’ Adelante. Tomorrow I fly out bright and early and will have limited access to internet (blog, facebook and instagram). Please continue to keep all of us in your prayers. One of our leaders created a fantastic prayer calendar with the name of each member of M-Squad. Please feel free to download this and use as you pray each day. If you ever have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me. You can do so in the comments or via my personal email: [email protected]

Prayer Calendar: all of M-Squad

I am so grateful for your continual prayers and financial support. By God’s grace and your support, I am fully funded! If you were not able to give financially to support me and can do so now, please consider supporting one of my teammates by visiting their blog at the link posted above.

Praying that God blesses you with a beautiful evening/day and a peaceful heart!

Prayer requests for the journey ahead:

– Safe travels to Launch in Atlanta and to El Salvador

– Peace and joy for all our team members as we continue to say goodbye to dear friends and family

– Staying healthy this next week and as we jump into 80 degree weather in Libertad (In Chicago we’re currently sitting at 1`F. Talk about a challenge knowing what to pack when it’s so cold!)

– Joy in all circumstances

– Developing relationships between our leaders and teammates as we spend the next several weeks serving together and living in close quarters
