I’m not entirely sure where to begin or how to write this. Words, as beautiful and eloquent as they can be, often lack the exact emotions we want to express at the right time. Photos are said to capture a 1000 words. I’ll try to express my current status with a little of both 🙂
Just over a year ago today (367 days to be exact) I first stumbled across The World Race. At that time I never would have imagined a year later, January 2, 2015, I would be packed and ready to leave for WR launch in just a few days time. More than that, I would have never imagined that God would have brought in the full amount of $14,242 I need to fundraise to participate in the WR.
Dear friends, family, brothers and sisters – I am fully funded! My heart is overflowing with gratitude (as my veins are coursing with caffeine… caution when you order a beverage with 4 shots of espresso at 4:00pm). God’s provision of this money will go towards this mission trip and to our ministry partners over the next year. This is just the first of many promises he will fulfill and miracles he will do throughout the next 11 months.
I am so incredibly grateful for your prayers and financial support over these past four months. As I’ve shared with so many of you, this mission God has called me to be a part of would not be possible without your help. God is using each one of you in a unique way to carry out his will. Thank you! While I’ve reached a fully funded status for the next year we (and I) are still in great need of prayers!
This morning I left Dubuque, Iowa, a city that has been my home for the past 7 years. I’ll be spending the next few days with my sister and brother-in-law in Chicago until I fly out to Atlanta on Tuesday morning for a few more days of training. As I enter into the 11n11 year I will continue with my blog to keep you informed of where we are at, what we are doing and how God is at work in the lives of those we are serving and my own as well.
