As a kid growing up Andy was drug to church every time the doors were open. Even if they were washing the windows, Andy’s parents had them sitting front row. Andy’s sister worked at the church as a Secretary and his brother is the director of sound and tech. With both of them working in the church, it was hard for Andy not to be involved. Andy didn’t put much hope in working at the church though. When he was a junior in high school Andy heard God calling him to missions when he would go to downtown Houston and feed the homeless. However, he started to let his thoughts get in the way of God’s plan. When Andy graduated high school he had the same thoughts as everyone else; move away, go to college, obtain a degree, make a ton of money, and start a family. Andy completed one semester of college and the Lord asked him to start working in a hole in the wall Italian restaurant for about a year. After that year and some change, the Lord placed Andy in the church working in student ministry with a year long internship making very little enough to continue college. Andy knew he needed to do something after his internship but wasn’t sure what. He started to pray and seeking different mission organizations. A close friend of Andy’s had recently gotten back from World Race training camp and was telling Andy all about her experience at training. The friend proceeded to tell Andy that while she was at camp she had a dream that he was going on the Race. The next day Andy researched the World Race and after much prayer, God clearly told him what he would be doing for the next year!
I am beyond blessed to have this man of God on my team. Andy seeks the Lord daily and is such an encouragement to me. He is constantly putting others before himself and I always feel safe when he is around. Andy loves the Lord with all of his heart and I am so grateful to experience life with him. The Lord is already doing mighty things through him and I’m excited to continue to watch him grow deeper in his walk with the Lord.
Andy is not fully funded yet so if you feel led to financially support him, please click on his picture to the left of this page for further details on helping him stay on the Race. God has big things in store for Andy!
