If five strangers walked into your house at 1:30 in the morning, what would you do?

Would you greet them with food and coffee?

Would you let them ask you all the questions about what life looks like in your world?

Would you cook for them?

Would you patiently walk with them through the frustration of the language barrier?

Would you offer smiles and hugs and when they came home from a long day of ministry?

Would you pray for them?

Share your walk with Jesus with them?

I was one of those five strange women that showed up at Casa Esperanza in La Pintana, Chile at 1:30 in the morning. In the month following we were showered with hospitality that did not quit.

“Be hospitable to one another without complaint.” -1 Peter 4:9

Chile is a beautiful country and the Lord surrounded my team with absolutely beautiful people. The women that live at Casa Esperanza are full of love for strangers. This love turned strangers into sisters. When my team walked away at the end of the month we felt we were leaving family behind.
In the midst of busy ministry days; spending time at two different local schools, english lessons, hope community, kids zone, etc…faithfully each night we would come together for dinner and share about the goodness of the Lord together. It didn’t matter our backgrounds, the language we spoke, or the struggles we were walking through, we were able to worship our Lord together. I learned a beautiful thing this month. Love knows no bounds. I will carry these friendships close to my heart for rest of my life.

Thank you, Trujillo Family, Estefania, Ivette, Carolina, Ornella, Anais, Lily, Keila, Nicole, Susy, Geraldine, Ricardo, Esteban, and Carlos. It was an honor and a privilege to serve our Lord alongside you.
