Update!

A few changes happened in the last two weeks!

1) I have a new team- team Wabi-Sabi! Wabi-sabi is a Japenese word that means to find the beauty in imperfection. We want our team name to be a reminder of how much beauty is found in our imperfect journey to become more like Christ. The process of sanctification is difficult and often times messy, but even more so it’s a beautiful portrait of being redeemed by a loving Father.

2) After over 50 hours of travel, my team of 6 made it to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe on Wednesday! We are so stoked to be in Africa working in several different ministries through a local church. Some of the things we have been a part of so far include evangelizing and praying for men and women at a local vegetable market, taking part in a women’s Bible study at the market, cooking and serving food at a soup kitchen, and creating kids ministry and evangelizing in a very poor village of families squatting on government land in the outskirts of the city. More to come on those ministries and more in the coming weeks!

3) I also wanted to give a formal update on the Linus fundraiser we started back in May. Everyone who supported the fundraiser should have received a thank you email from us with the details of how the money raised was used to help Pastor Pirot and his ministry- please read below:

In the month of May, we were able to raise $6,000 to give them! While this was not enough to buy a new van, that money will still be put to good use. Pastor Pirot and his wife Meow have decided to put that money towards paying rent on their community center that they run. The money we raised will pay the rent for over a year. Any left over money will be put towards repairing their current van. As a pastor, Pirot does not make a salary. Every month they have just enough money to pay the bills. This money will lift a huge burden off of them. They will be able to put more time and energy into their ministry because of your help. Thank you so much for partnering with us for this cause!

Pastor Pirot received the money raised last week- HORRAY! Praise God for how he moved to help a humble family of believers in such a great way. Thank you all for your constant prayers of support- every single one means the world to us.

Love and Blessings from Zimbabwe!
