Eating together, praying together, walking together, crying together, laughing together, worshipping together… community.
Last night, Matt, Laura, Steven, Liz, Susan and I (aka my team) sat on the rooftop of our hostel in the night listening to the drumming of a local school band rehearsing, motorbikes honking, and the locals who live in the hostel doing laundry. We sat there, and began to worship God through song. Something so simple yet so beautiful. Matt's voice was shot due to smog, I was getting eaten alive by mosquitos, and Steven was being attacked by a large bug of some kind. In the midst of it all, God was there, and spoke. I heard God say, "This is good."
Every morning, Liz and I run to the fresh market across the street to buy breakfast. We return and sit with our team and enjoy our amazing breakfast. After, we sat and talked about our nights, our mornings, and then begin to pray. We pray for whatever comes to mind. In the midst of our prayer time this morning, I again heard from God, "This is good."
I am beginnging to see what makes God happy. Sometimes I forget that even though God is so Huge and the Creator of everything, He even cares about the little things.
In the book of Genesis, as
God was creating the heavens and the Earth, He looked at it and "saw that is was good." When God sees us listening to
Him, helping out another in need, resting when needed, enjoying His creations, He looks and sees that it is good.
I am really looking forward to more times like these. More time being with Him in community, and for Him to see that it is good.
