It’s been about two weeks since I have gotten home from training camp in Atlanta, Georgia. I’ve attempted to write this blog a few times now and each time I have struggled with finding the words to fully explain my experience. I realized that no matter how long I spend on this blog I will never be able to fully explain the ten days I spent in Atlanta, so this is my best attempt.

I went to training camp not really sure what to expect, but what I found was a wonderful eye opening experience. I not only learned that my pack was way too big for me or that I would come to love bucket showers, but that God was going to work on my heart tremendously during the ten days.

I grew up knowing that the lord is always willing to forgive, but I never truly felt free from my sins until he showed me a new meaning of freedom. God allowed me to really wrap my mind and heart around the idea that he is a forgiving father. He showed me that he never wants me to turn away from him in my time of sin, and he wants nothing more than to love me and show me forgiveness. Its almost impossible to explain the amount of relief and happiness I feel knowing that he loves me on my good days and bad days. This feeling has allowed me to not only forgive myself but others around me.

God also confirmed that his plans are nothing less than perfect. He surrounded me with the most amazing individuals I have ever met!! They instantly become a second family to me, and I know our bond will only grow closer. I am so excited for what the lord was has in store for all of us, and I can’t wait to take on this unforgettable journey with all of them.

Many thanks to my family and friends for all the love and support! I am still $2,911 away from being fully funded, and I would appreciate any support you could provide.
