Training Camp. Wowza.
World Race Training Camp was a 10 day whirlwind in Gainesville, GA where I got to meet my sweet sweet team of girls that I will be doing life with for 9 months (I will introduce them to yall in a later blog, they’re the best!!!!), worship the Lord, learn so so much about world missions and evangelism, grow in my faith, try out my gear, eat a bunch of weird new things, and see God work in some crazy ways. Here are some of the best things God taught me in just 10 days:
- I am free. He even gave me a key necklace that says so. (plz ask me about this one, it’s such a fun story!!!)
- I am His daughter—not a visitor who has to walk on egg shells trying not to break anything. I am free to be messy and wild and myself because He knows and loves my heart and there will always be a seat for me at His table and a place for me in His arms.
- God loves me enough to meet me where I am but He loves me too much to leave me where I am.
- Salvation is free, discipleship costs everything
- Even when I don’t “feel” anything, He is still good and worthy of all of my praise
- The Lord SPEAKS. We just have to listen. Like foreal. Also ask me about this one. So many stories!!!
- God’s one goal from the beginning of time has been to see every tribe, tongue, and nation come to Him and He lovingly invites you and me to be a part of fulfilling that goal– He trusts ME to do His business… How cool is that????
- It’s not our job to save people, it’s the Holy Spirit’s. We don’t have to say all the perfect things, we just have to be willing and obedient
- We will never give up something for the Lord and be left with nothing !!!
- Jesus is not safe, but He is good
Yall. As you can see, God is so so good. I came into training camp thinking that I was fine, and quickly realized all the walls still around my heart. But you know what? He doesn’t care. He doesn’t care how big and tall and thick they are. He doesn’t care how strong you’ve tried to build them. He doesn’t care how many lies the enemy has sold you that only add layers to those walls. He’s not afraid. He moves the mountains. He breaks down the walls. His love comes in like a lion, no matter how much is between you and Him, because THAT is how much He loves you. He would do anything to get to you. It doesn’t make sense, it’s totally reckless, but that’s God.
I won’t pretend like I’m totally ready and have it all together, but yall I am so on fire for Jesus. I am so pumped that He chose ME to partner with Him to bring light and love and joy into people’s lives through Him. I am so pumped to introduce people to the God who truly SEES them and is not afraid of their walls, of their failures, or of anything they could throw at Him. I am so pumped to introduce people to the totally reckless love of Jesus.
I move to Guatemala to do this in a little less than 7 WEEKS !!!! If you would like to help put me out on the mission field, I still lack about $2,500 to be fully funded. All donated funds go towards food, lodging, and travel for me to spend 9 months loving on people all around the world!! If you feel lead to do this, please donate at the link at the top of the page. Any amount is so so appreciated. ??
Thanks friends!!!! Please ask me more about training camp, I have so many stories!
Love,
Alley
